Zynga Gaming Scholarship

1. Overview
The 2025-26 Zynga Gaming Scholarship provides up to $7,500 of financial assistance to deserving students to help defray educational costs during matriculation at Spelman College. The Zynga Gaming Scholarship is intended to support students with an interest in gaming technology. Avid gamers, game designers, storytellers, researchers and other disciplines with ties to gaming technology are encouraged to apply.
"Gaming technology" refers to all activities with a significant overlap with game design and development. and encompass creating video games, immersive storytelling, 3D modeling, RT3D, simulation, virtual and extended reality (AR/MR), gaming for social good, instructional games, aspects of interactive media and other application domains.

Approximately 14 scholarships will be awarded this year.

2. Eligibility
Eligible candidates will be full-time students with an interest in gaming technology and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75. Eligible students must have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and must be a recipient of federal financial aid. For the purpose of this scholarship, financial need is a student’s cost of attendance after waivers and other scholarships are applied. This scholarship is renewable at the discretion of the funder if the Zynga Scholar maintains an academic year GPA of 3.0 or higher.

3. Information for Awardees
Funds from the Zynga scholarship will be first applied to a student’s outstanding balance, then to reducing student loans, then paid directly to the student, in that order. Awardees must be willing to participate in a limited number of program-related activities including surveys and in-person or virtual Zynga campus visits.

4. Application
Scholarship applications for the 2025-26 academic year are due on December 20, 2025. Note that the application requires completing an essay. Please allow yourself time to complete a thoughtful application prior to the due date. Submit your application through the Innovation Lab Zynga Scholarship Application Portal. Awardees will be notified in January.
