    • Artificial Intelligence, more commonly known as AI, is ​the use of computer systems to perform tasks that historically required human intelligence.

  • Can AI see or hear me?

    • Not unless you give it permission. Text-based AI tools like ChatGPT don't have access to your camera, mic, or files, unless you share that info with them. Always check what data you are uploading to keep it safe.​

  • Is AI biased?

    • Yes, it can be. AI learns from the data it is trained on.​

  • Where can I learn more or ask questions?

    • Start with one of our workshops, every other Tuesday from 11am - 1pm EST here in the lab! Or explore the AI Toolkit.​

  • Is using AI for classwork cheating?

    • It depends, if you are using AI to support your understanding (like summarizing texts or helping brainstorm), that can be fine. But passing off AI-generated work as your own without permission or citation may violate academic integrity. The best bet is to ask your professor.​

  • Is AI safe to use with personal information?

    • You should never share sensitive or personally identifiable information with AI tools. Treat them like you would social media, be mindful of what you upload.​
